The magicJack ended up disbanding in late 2011 and WPS was dissolved in early 2012. Rapinoe was part of Sydney Football Club FC in the Australian W-League for a couple games prior to her return to the United States. Next, she played with The Seattle Washington Sounders Women (now the Sound FC). She was in France during the 2013 football season. She was a member of Seattle Reign FC, now OL Reign in the National Women's Soccer League NWSL which was created following the demise of WPS. Rapinoe soon became a leading scoring player in the team and eventually became captain.
