Alison Ann Sweeney is an American actress reality show host director, and writer. Sweeney is well known for her role as Samantha Sami Brady on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives a role she played under contract for the series between January 6 and October 30 2014. Sweeney was able to decide that she was tired of popular fads such as grapefruit diets and cabbage soup in 1999. She ditched fads like cabbage soup and grapefruit diets made healthy changes like eliminating sodas with sugar and began exercising in boot camp-style gym classes. This was a huge success. She lost close to 30 pounds. Sweeney has two brothers and is Irish. She had studied Economics at UCLA prior to deciding to concentrate on Days of Our Lives. Sweeney was married to David Sanov in July 2000. They were together for 3 years. The couple have two children: a son who was born in February, 2005, and a daughter who was born on January 12, 2009.
